It looks and smells like what I used to make; we've not sliced it yet to
see if it tastes like it. It turned out quite well tho I kneaded in
about a cup more flour than the recipe called for. I subbed in dry milk
(for the liquid milk, just used another cup of water, and added caraway
seeds & some gluten. Instead of doing it the way the recipe read, I
mixed about half of the flour and the other drys (including the yeast),
heated liquids to about 125 & added them, mixed well, adding more flour
as needed. A lot less fuss; it's the way I do my whole wheat bread and
had done the rye bread that way years ago.

Depends on the snow, if it's a dry, powdery or a heavy, wet one; the
latter is as soaking as a rainstorm. Anyway, yesterday was our first day
without rain (12 days of it), warm & sunny, today was the same. Very
enjoyable but they're saying showers Friday night into Saturday again.

We've been home for meals this week, no traveling. Steve will have
supper as part of the local Legion meeting tomorrow, and Friday, the
district meeting. I'll have clean out the fridge meals. (G)
