Swisher met Lilli and me in Paris, and then he drove us
down to Ian and Jacquie's, a good thing as Lilli was 
getting tired of driving me around. Interesting fact:
whenever Lilli was in the car, we would get lost, and
neither GPS would rescue us. Now that she's gone back
to the US, and Swisher and I are wandering around alone,
we get lost seldom, and the GPSes (Swisher's, a Garmin
bought on eBay, and the TomTom built into the car) are
not misleading us nearly so badly. Of course, we are
in less populous areas now.

Turns out that my main piece of luggage fits into the
sizer boxes, or would but for the fact that the handle
thingy is broken, stuck into a half-extended position.
Got to do a consultation with the others to see if some
fix can be accomplished; if not, I'm not sure how I'm 
going to handle things. I really want to make this piece
last until I get back to the States.

When did I write that? I have heard that Ankara got kaboomed 
yesterday or the day before. At least it's not a seaport.
Glad he's not gadding about around there. Also glad I'm not.

So it appears I sent a batch of duplicates, not having easy
checking capability. Life being like that.

Catfish in the style of unagi
categories: mock, Japanese, sushi, main
yield: 1 lb

1/2 c mirin
1/2 c shoyu
1/4 c sugar
2 catfish fillets

Combine the mirin, shoyu, and sugar in a small pot.

Bring to a boil, then simmer for half an hour. Let cool.

Marinate the catfish in the sauce overnight.

Bring the oven to 350F.

Wrap the catfish fillets in individual foil packets, 
pouring some of the sauce over each fillet. Bake 
30-45 min, keeping an eye on the catfish so it doesn’t 
overcook. Let cool. Enjoy!

facsimile of an increasingly rare and expensive dish
out of cheaper and abundant raw materials.
