I never claimed singles were "cheese". No more than Velveeta or Cheeze Wiz. 
You're breaking no ground here. They were calling Kraft Singles Pasteurized 
Prepared Cheese Food until the FDA gave them a warning in December of 2002 
that the product could not be legally labeled as 'food' due to the inclusion 
of Milk Protein Concentrates.

I fail to see how that is a "bad" thing. MPC's addition INCREASES the PROTEIN 
LEVEL of the product achieving GREATER CHEESE YIELD for less capital 
investment.

Even so, "Kraft Singles, a type of processed cheese that comes individually 
wrapped in a thin, plastic film, is the first food to receive the new "Kids 
Eat Right" label -- a stamp of approval designed by the Academy of Nutrition 
and Dietetics to help families make healthier decisions in the grocery store.

The "Kids Eat Right" campaign is meant to "raise awareness that the diets of 
America's kids are lacking in three important components– dairy, calcium and 
vitamin D," according to a statement from AND."

      Title: McRib Double Down
 Categories: Five, Pork, Cheese vege
      Yield: 1 Serving
 
      2    JTM brand "Grillin' Ribs"
           - pork patty; or pork belly
      2 sl Thick cut smoked bacon;
           - cooked crisp
      2 sl Kraft American cheese; or
           - other mild Cheddar
      2 tb Chopped white onion
      3    Sour dill pickle slices
 
  A cross-promotional feast! Like the KFC Double Down, which
  uses fried chicken patties to hold everything together,
  this is a bread-less sandwich.
  
  Preheat your griddle or frying pan to 400øF/205øC, or
  medium high heat. Cook the pork elements according to
  package directions. Add pickles, onions, two slices of
  Kraft American cheese, and two slices of crisp-cooked
  bacon, between the rib patties.
  
  Wrap generously with wax paper and tinfoil, or eat using
