DD> As close as I come to TV these days is watching Rocky & Bullwinkle on a
DD> W10 app. And old Warner Brother's cartoons (Road Runner, Looney Tunes)
DD> or MGM's Tom & Jerry. If I do want a flicker I pop a DVD in the drive
 DD> and Presto!

SD> I mainly watch documentaries, cooking shows, and reality shows such as
SD> The Science Channel's "How It's Made" (one of my favorite shows). Most
SD> of the time, I'll leave it on in the background for noise.

I *may* hook my groove tube to an antenna and a power source. Sometime. Maybe.
For background - I have an 1800+ selection playlist for my WinAmp. And an
Aluratec Internet Radio that also does FM, USB, Aux In, etc. The Aluratec is
in the bedroom and serves as my white noise generator as well as an
entertainment source when I am awake and aware.

DD> That's got to be good for the waist-line. And right ofter your croaker
DD> told you to quit "growing out".

SD> That's just in one day...and when the plant is shutdown for
SD> Thanksgiving. There's a lot of maintenance going on with the machines
SD> and facilities is repainting the floors and catching up on other stuff
SD> that's impossible to do when the plant's running.

So, are youin the millwright department or the IT help desk? I thought it was
the latter - but, what you describe here sound more like millwright duties. Or
have I grasped the mooky end of the stick again?

SD> We are ramping up for the busy season and there will be a while where
SD> we will be going 24/7. I will be working several weeks in a row,
SD> non-stop with no days off, but that is part and parcel of my job. With
SD> that comes lots and lots and lots of walking.

That can only be good for you. And less and less hassle as you get your body
inured to it. Don't they let you zip about the facility in one of their nice
Gator vehicles?

SD> Fun fact: John Deere owns 30 acres of rolling pasture next to the
SD> factory to test out the lawn mowers and tractors on. My dad, who
SD> adores mowing with his lawn tractor, has asked me to see how he could
SD> get a job mowing all day. :D

A job is something you do for money that you wouldn't do except for the money.
What your dad wants is a position. Bv)=

SD> I would like to lose about another 50 pounds myself. That will get me
SD> back in the 180-190 range (doctor recommended). I would personally
SD> like to drop down to 170 but my doctor said anything less would be a
SD> bad thing as then I would be too skinny. I just can't make anyone
 SD> happy...

As long as you like cooking and eating there's probably not a lot of danger of
pissing off your croaker.

Me, I'll settle for the 200# - 210# range. That's only 50 more pounds

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

      Title: "Nifty Fifties" Rice Pudding
Categories: Rice, Dairy, Fruits, Desserts, Dairy
      Yield: 8 servings

    3/4 c Raw long-grain rice
    1/4 ts Vanilla
      2 lg Eggs; slightly beaten
    1/8 ts Salt
  1 1/2 c Milk
    1/2 c Golden raisins (Sultanas)
  1 1/2 c Heavy cream
    1/2 ts Ground cinnamon
    1/3 c Granulated white sugar
      2 ts Grated lemon peel
 	   +=OR=+
      2 ts Grated orange peel
           Whipped cream (opt)

This was the oldest standby in the resturant business.

Prepare the rice in 1 1/2 cups of water according to
package directions. Meanwhile heat the oven to
350øF/175øC. Grease an 8" square baking dish.

In a large bowl combine the eggs, milk, cream, sugar,
zest, vanilla, and salt beating until well blended. Stir
the raisins into the rice and spoon the rice mixture into
  the prepared baking dish.

Pour the egg mixture over the rice and sprinkle with the
cinnamon. Place the baking dish in the oven in a larger
baking pan filled with enough hot water to come halfway up
the sides of the baking dish.

Bake for 45 minutes until pudding is almost set, stirring
once after 10 minutes and again 15 minutes later. Remove
the baking dish from the larger pan and cool on a wire
  rack, cooling until cold.

Refrigerate, covered, at least 3 hours or overnight until
the pudding is firm. Serve with whipped cream, if desired.
