Possible... Wegmans does carry the French's onion rings, along with
their own version... Used to be I could get French's cheddar onion
rings, nice for snacking on... ;) I didn't see the potato sticks,
though, but I only remembered to look when we were in the vegetable
aisle... I suppose they might be in the snacks, instead, with potato
chips and such.... forgot to check when we were in that vicinity...

ML> As I recall there's a paperback edition with the
ML> cover illustration of a bluish-black cat carrying
ML> a revolver and winking at you that contains some
ML> formerly expurgated parts. I've read two versions
ML> and find that one racier and more enjoyable.

I think ours is a hardcover... with a dust jacket... keep forgetting to
look for it when I'm downstairs... ;)

ML> Yeah. I discover though that if I get kicked off
ML> Doc's and go back hours later I can often return
 ML> to where I was, a blessing.

Indeed. :)

ML> Interesting that peppermint, which now is thought to
ML> be a sign of good breath, was back then considered in
 ML> bad taste.

Maybe there's hope for garlic, yet...? (G)

 ML> I wasn't interested in Kansas until I discovered
ML> that Oklahoma Joe's was there and offered some of
ML> the best burnt ends I've ever tasted and also some
ML> of the greatest apotheoses of pork.

I can see where that would spark some interest... :)

ML> Sadly, Oklahoma Joe has moved back where he belongs,
ML> and the bbq place is now just Joe's; the food is
ML> almost as good as it used to be but not quite.

Oh, well...

ML> I have not run back
ML> up to Oklahoma to see about the other place. Yet.

It's on your list... ;)

 > > We'll have to compare schedules as time gets closer, I guess... :)

ML> That's something to think about. In touch with the Fords
 ML> lately?

Tried to call yesterday and only got the answer box... Last I talked to
them, they were running off somewhere and had a busy schedule, so Burt
was going to get back to me... it's been a good while now, and he
hasn't, so I guess I'll get pushy again... ;)

ML> At this point I'd say I'd say no, but who knows, see below.

Exactly.

ML> Hard to tell. I hear all sorts of brave talk about giving
ML> up when there's no hope, but then when the time comes, the
ML> people hang on and try and try - the urge to stay alive
ML> even if not properly speaking living is a strong one. Or
ML> perhaps the definition of "no hope" changes along the way.

Not sure that it's the "no hope" that influences my thinking... more
just that I'm not fixated on sticking around... ;)
