A very jolly FA up front.

New stuff in the snack basket. Some kind of lemon cookie
that didn't look promising; Brookside dark chocolate 
pomegranate flavor, which I'd had before and found them not
so good as when they first hit the market; and Popcorners 
sweet chili popped chips, somewhat lame with the lameness
reflected in that of the slogan "wholesome in a chip." A
not-quite-good texture without the comforting greasiness of
fried chips. I will give them this - they are dusted with
something that gives a reasonable facsimile of tiger sauce,
which is a sweet-hot dumbing down for the Louisiana I think
market of sriracha. I had a Coke to go with.

We landed close enough to on time for me to comfortably 
make my next flight, down at the other end of the terminal.

To begin
Chilled appetizer - nori-wrapped smoked salmon with wasabi
mayonnaise and California sushi roll

 Okay! Real crab, though not great crab, in the California
 roll; the smoked salmon was okay too.

Fresh seasonal greens - tomatoes, baby mozzarella, Kalamata
olives, cucumber and croutons with your choice of creamy
gorgonzola dressing or balsamic vinaigrette

 Also okay, with bocconcini that weren't quite so fine as
 they once were, but on the whole reasonably fresh and
 quite edible.

Main course
Short rib of beef - Asian-style barbecue sauce, wasabi grits and
stir-fried vegetables

Spice-rubbed breast of chicken - mustard barbecue sauce, steamed
rice, mixed vegetables and pickled cabbage

Japanese selection
Appetizers of marinated mussel. skewered breast of duck with
sansho-miso, pressed sushi with herring and herring roe and
lobster saad

A main course of grilled salmon, clear soup with mushroom and
chicken, marinated spinach, surf clams with vinegar-miso,
simmered squash with chicken sauce, steamed rice and
Japanese-style pickles

Sake and green tea are available.

 The beef was all right this time, with a vein of gristle in
 the middle cooked to a nice melty texture. The less said about
 the other things the better; okay, I scraped off the too sweet
 sauce as best I could, but it made the wasabi grits (who thinks
 of these things?) almost edible. The vegetables were mushy and
 unattractive.

To finish
international cheese selection - grapes and crackers served with Port

Dessert - gelato with your choice of toppings

 I had a glass of Port, some interesting off-brand whose name
 I didn't recognize, and then switched to Courvoisier, which
 choice earned me a knowing nod from the FA.

Mid-flight snack
Assorted sandwiches - turkey with cranberry cream cheese, spinach
tortilla wrap with cheese and vegetables

Red bean rice cake

Fruit and light snacks are available at any time following the meal
service. Please help yourself or ask a flight attendant for today's
selection

 Red bean mochi by JFC was delicious in that gooey sweet way,
 and Varda truffles, labeled as having been made with Callebaut
 chocolate, were tasty but but horribly oversweetened. I felt a
 diabetic attack coming on.

Prior to arrival
Cheddar cheese omelet - broccoli-potato gratin and chicken sausage

Chicken katsu - curry sauce, steamed rice and vegetables

Cereal and banana - served with milk.

Fresh fruit appetizer, yogurt or savory salad and breakfast breads.

 I asked for the katsu and was told that they had catered only
 three of them, and they'd all been given away. So I guess the
 omelet it had to be; it was actually tasty and would have been
 better if I were enthusiastic about the vast amount of mild
 melting cheese in the middle of it. The gratin and sausage 
 were as dire as ever.
