That omelette thing when good can be okay, almost
as nice as a slice of custard pie. That's to say
I never bother, especially as it requires some care
in the making. Inarizushi is way easier for even
the tyro sushimaker.

Pretty good stuff. Problem is that I have become
inured to strong flavors, so instead of taking just
a pinch between cheek and gum (as they say in another
context) I now eat the stuff by the tablespoonful.

Not quite ... unless the guy thought I was senile. He was
quite explicit, as to a wayward child, in what I should do,
which train to get on, which way to turn after arriving at
the station, and so on.

Nope, imitation. Possibly derived from some sea creature
but more like sodium alginate with saltwater or similar.

I think it was open until 10:30; after that you probably
could get the same thing but not in unlimited portions
and not included any more in the room rate. Anyhow, I
couldn't eat a huge huge quantity, because most of the
dishes were oversalted in a way that made me long for a
beer or three.

I understand and sympathize, despite seal meat not being 
of the most appetizing.

There must be a whole race of accountants whose vocation
is to provide rosy financial forecasts for every planned
enterprise no matter how shaky. And sellers fall into the
hole so often.

Every town needs a brewpub. The conglomeration of brewing
facilities must be stopped.

An homage to WD-50's egg dish
category: booze
servings: 1

1 1/2 oz cachaca
3 oz premixed 50/50 coconut milk and coconut water
carrot foam

Shake cachaca and coconut mix with ice. Strain into a glass
and top with a good layer of carrot foam.
