So, who cans pork brains and cheeseburgers...? I've seen frozen
cheeseburgers, of course... :) And how did Blind Robins get their
name, being as they are herring... ;)

ML> As opposed to Bourdain eating charred warthog
ML> bungs, another kind of grossout factor (I've
ML> eaten bungs, but not in the uncleaned state
ML> as depicted in the TV show).

Indeed a different sort of grossout factor...

ML> Last night my mixed salad had a slice of cucumber
ML> (not a real grossout, just slightly unpleasant) and
ML> a slice of zucchini; this latter had nice grill
ML> marks, and I debated actually eating it, but then I
ML> flipped it over, and the reverse was raw and without
ML> grill marks, so it found its bed on the refuse pile
 ML> next to the cucumber.

Ah, well....

ML> Perhaps I'll feel bored someday and not wait for the
ML> next echo picnic. But at the picnic we could actually
ML> make marshmallows and play with some in the microwave
ML> and keep some around until the last day of the picnic,
ML> then divide up the remainder and have each person age
ML> them further under different conditions - someone in
ML> the fridge, someone in the freezer, someone at room
 ML> temperature.

Never kept marshmallows in the fridge or freezer, always have been in
the cupboard or similar... How difficult is it to make marshmallows,
then...? And would they be more similar to the ones of my youth...?

 > You mean beef lung with bananas...? ok, plantains... ;) Odd, but in a

ML> In a good way, perhaps, I thought. Though I have eaten
ML> lung, it was stewed and collapsed and not very
ML> interesting; I admit that I've not eaten much of the
 ML> stuff at a time.

It did seem to have possibilities... :) Stewed and collapsed, how
different would it be from other offal...?

 > ML> Black Moth Sangria

ML> This seemed to be more a sangrita, which has a
ML> tomato base. The etymologies both stem from the
 ML> Spanish word for blood.

Ah, ok... :)

 > ML> 5 ml 8 to10 yr old balsamic vinegar
 > ML> Sliced black truffle
 > And I'll agree on the pretentious, too... ;)
 ML> More money than sense ... .

Indeed. :)

 ML> Oliveto
 ML> category: booze, odd
 ML> servings: 1
 ML> 60 ml dry gin
 ML> 25 ml lemon juice
 ML> 12 ml simple syrup
 ML> 12 ml Licor 43
 ML> 1 egg white
 ML> 15 ml olive oil

Sort of a boozy vinagrette...? (G)
