===========================
Hi Nancy,

NB> I see we got a large dump of different dates from you finally... from
 NB> 6Dec to 29Dec... and rather mixed... 10th, some in the 20's, 6th and
 NB> then a 29th... So if things seem a little mixed.......... ;)

The log jam broke, finally!

NB> RH>> Don't know until you try. I'd had the spicy pork before but
NB> didn't RH>> recall the thicker coating of flour(?) on it. Whatever
NB> the pork was RH>> coated with had the spicing in it.
NB> NB>> Maybe the cook that night had a heavier hand with the coating
 NB> than

RH> It was lunch time, both times I've had it. Could be, they've gotten a
RH> different cook in the time between our visits.

NB> Or, they've had more than one cook, and you got a different one the
NB> second time from the first....

Could be, but it was still good.

NB> NB>> before...? But, exactly, one doesn't know how one might like
 NB> NB>> something until one tries... :)
RH> True, it was good, if a bit on the hot side. It warmed me up quickly,
RH> as did Steve's spicy chicken, him.

NB> Both thermal and spicy heat, then...? :) We had a spicy noodle dish

Yes, and it would have been extra good today as we didn't get above
freezing.

NB> today at the new Malaysian place... the last thing supposedly spicy
NB> we'd gotten there wasn't all that spicy (a basil beef), so this time I
NB> specified that we wanted it spicy... and were asked how spicy... given
NB> a choice between 3 and 4, we took 3... and that turned out to be a
 NB> nice
NB> heat... a little tingle and lots of flavor... :)

Sounds yummy.

NB> NB>> We'd've just got one larger bowl of soup and split that, along
NB> with NB>> splitting the pancake... :) I suspect that our next visit
 NB> there won't NB>> be until Christmas Eve... it's pretty much a
NB> tradition now, for us to NB>> go there after the Christmas Eve
 NB> service... :)

RH> At this point, I've no idea what's on our menu for Christmas Eve. It
RH> varies from year to year and place to place. Last year it was fairly
RH> basic as we were still settling moving dust and left a few days after
 RH> Christmas for NY.

NB> We did go to Seoul House for Christmas Eve... split an appetizer-size
NB> seafood pancake and then an order of spicy squid... both very nice...

Rachel made chicken paprikash with home made spaezle for Christmas eve.
It was good but we ate late (went to a light show).

NB> And then we decided that what we wanted for dessert was Fu's either
NB> egg custards or ice cream, and went there next... ;) I think we
NB> managed to take them by surprise, coming in only for dessert... ;)
 NB> Decided on a
NB> bowl of red bean ice cream to share... :)

Nice to change things up every so often.

NB> RH>>> The sushi thing came as part of the box--it was close to
NB> falling RH>>> apart (not rolled tight enough) when I picked it up.
NB> NB>>> No, not good sushi... I think I'd just skip that sort of
 NB> dealie NB>>> altogether... ;)
NB> RH>> It's a good way to get an assortment of things without having a
NB> lot of RH>> any one item except the rice (and a good serving of)
 NB> meat.
NB> NB>> As long as the assortment of things is all good... ;) Like with
 NB> Fu's NB>> bento boxes... :)

RH> We might have to try one of those at a visit.

NB> It's a nice sampler... :) As to the sushi thing at your Korean
NB> place, I did notice on the menu at Seoul House something that looked a
NB> lot like a rolled sushi, seaweed on the outside, but it was called
 NB> something
NB> else... they have new menus now, that is made of pictures of the
NB> different items with the name and price... I ended up asking to see
NB> one of the older menus (still available when we were there) to be sure
 NB> I was getting what I wanted... :)

Good to keep some of the old menus around for folks like you. I'm not
sure what the Koreas sushi thing was but it didn't taste bad. Not nearly
as good as Fu's tho. We also tried a Fry's (grocery store in AZ) samples
of a sushi, both the spicy (with siracha) an non spicy. Again, they
didn't compare to Fu's, but not bad. Never did swing back to the sushi
area to get some for lunch tho.

NB> NB>>>> Might be better to send to Richard, same as mine except
NB> NB>>>> rjbackus instead of backus... ;) He can handle the bigger
 NB> NB>>>> emails a lot easier... :)
NB> RH>>> OK, I'll make sure he knows to send the pictures to Richard.
NB> RH>>> Probably easier to see on the computer than the phone.
 NB> NB>>> True...
NB> RH>> I passed the work on, don't know if he's sent the pictures yet.
NB> NB>> As far as I know he hasn't... at least Richard hasn't said
NB> anything NB>> about it yet...

RH> I'll put a bug in his ear about it; he's been a bit preoccupied the
 RH> last few days.

NB> You were pretty busy back then on getting ready for your trip... and
NB> since then, being on the trip.... after all... ;)

Yes, and now we're home, getting caught up on any & every thing.

Catch you later,
Ruth
