Depends. The last weirdness started a couple months
early, so I was almost human again come January.

Usually I get health crises after forays into the
tropics, which for me means mid-January in Asia or 
at least hot weather. Lately I've been trying to 
balance that all with a side trip to cooler climates 
- Nepal and Korea for example; this year my 
destination is a tea plantation in Pahang, near 
Perak, Malaysia, where the average year-round high 
is 70 +- 2 and the low is 59 +- 2.

I ought to learn and not go to Singapore and Malaysia
that often, but I really do like it there.

The other day my friend Steven In Newton made me - 
of all things - a steamed chicken breast. It was
actually okay, as it was very lightly brined before
cooking and then steamed until the middle of the
middle was just slightly pink. His wife told him
that it wasn't done, but before he had a chance to
put it back on, I rescued it, saying it was perfect.
Of course she's the person who will take a rotisserie
chicken from the store and bake it an additional half
hour.

For me gluten-free is pretty easy, as I seldom bake
and tend not to eat pasta (though I will binge out
on the stuff now and then).

I've been there a few times in asparagus season and
occasionally dined very nicely off the Spargelkarte.
I had an excellent asparagus salad with shrimp at
a Courtyard Marriott that had advertised itself as
being close to the Frankfurt airport and offered a
free shuttle to and from. The food was great, the
transportation nonexistent, the opposite of what I'd
have expected. I suspect that the shuttle had come 
and seeing that the clients were a Chinese guy and a 
black woman driven right on.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.01

      Title: Lemon Chicken Asparagus
 Categories: Salads, Vegetables, Poultry
      Yield: 4 servings

      4    Boneless chicken breasts          3/4 lb Fresh asparagus;
trimmed
      1 tb Fresh lemon juice                   1 tb Olive oil
      1 ts Salt; optional                      2 ts Seasoned dry bread
crumbs
    1/2 ts Pepper; fresh ground                4    Slices low-fat turkey
ham
    1/2 ts Grated lemon zest                   8    Lemon slices; for
garnish

  In med. bowl, combine chicken, lemon juice, 1/2 of the salt, pepper and
  lemon zest. Toss to mix. On a large flat plate, coat the chicken with the
  seasoned bread crumbs. Spray Pam on a non-stick skillet and heat over
  medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook, turning once, until golden
  brown outside and white throughout (but still juicy--about 5-7 minutes).
  Place chicken on a serving platter. Meanwhile, steam the fresh asparagus
  for approx. 5-7 minutes. When done, season the asparagus with the
remaining
  lemon zest and salt and pepper. Divide asparagus into 4 bundles. Wrap
each
  asparagus bundle with a slice of the turkey "ham" and place on top of
