It was only an hour's total time for us when we went to Kauai. We were

That's understandable. We flew from Tampa to LA one day, then the next
morning, went on to HI. That was the trip where we had 2 checked bags
each (March of 2001) that were almost 70 pounds each, got a couple of
warning notes in them. We were PCS-ing at the time.

We were single income, 2 kids. I worked part time a for a few years but
was home for the girls 99% of the time. Most often tho, my income has

Not good at all! We've no pets because I have asthma and my
pulminologist in HI said I had a choice between pets or breathing.

We're planning on making ours a road vehicle, towed by our Ford Escape.
Steve is doing a lot of small but useful modifications, mostly for
storage but some in the kitchen area. We'd taken a small pressure cooker
on the last trip, think one of the major road bumps we hit made it
bounce and crack a shelf (only 1/4" plywood, now 1/2"). Don't know how
often we'll take the cooker in the future tho.

Not worth the time and effort to clean and cook? Most often when we
bought fish (when we lived on the coast), we had them cleaned and
filleted at the fish house, saving us time and effort.

That's a lot of meat to go thru! I don't know if I've eaten moose, know
I've had deer, bison and elk which are all similar. I would think that
moose would be in the same general taste range.
