To be quite blunt, most boozy desserts taste worse
than their nonboozy counterparts. Now a sprinkling of a
few drops of alcohol might and often does improve most
dishes, even desserts, when one is trying to obey the
second master, intoxication, balance and flavor are most
often out the window.

So I looked the case up, and she was stopped with
a flat tire, and the breathalyzer was done as a
collateral thing: she blew 0.40, but after hours
in the hospital without having drunk any more, she
blew 0.30, which clued people in that something
out of the ordinary was happening.

So the goodwill gesture had no potential negative
effects.

The miscalculation took place in maybe the '80s, maybe
earlier, and it has been entrenched in the system. The
airlines finally tumbled to the idiocy of it all, but
nobody has been willing to dismantle the system for fear
they give a competitive advantage to the enemy. Delta bit 
the bullet a few years ago, followed by United about two
years ago, and American is going to follow suit by 
mid-'16. The free ride is over! A sad effect is that I
may be flying back next week at least partway in coach.

Yes and no - it's been a surprising cultural-economic
battleground for a number of years, with many weird
clashes among ethnic and other cultural entities.

An amusement, that's what it was, once the initial
shock wore off. Of course the woman's well on toward
90 and can't be expected to do what a brigade de 
cuisine would. But then I shouldn't have either.

You could ask Kraft if it has an archivist. Of course, if
so, the person probably would be half our age and beginning
to feel like in a backwater.


Misir Wot (Yellow Lintel Stew)
categories: Ethiopian, main, lentils, pulses
servings: 10
 
4 c split red lintel
2 lg onions fine chopped
1 c oil
2 ts minced or powder garlic
2 ts Turmeric
2 ts salt or tt
8 c water or as desired

In large pot, saute onion, garlic, and turmeric with oil 
for 10 min. Add lintel and water continue to simmer stirring 
occasionally until lintel fully cooked, 20 to 30 min. Serve 
hot with Injera.
