Probably just as well that I rarely have the opportunity for the boozy
desserts... ;) Although, at our last church dinner, there were a
couple of rum-soaked cakes available... those were tasty enough... :)

ML> So I looked the case up, and she was stopped with
ML> a flat tire, and the breathalyzer was done as a
ML> collateral thing: she blew 0.40, but after hours
ML> in the hospital without having drunk any more, she
ML> blew 0.30, which clued people in that something
ML> out of the ordinary was happening.

Ah... that makes sense then that she beat the rap... I recently heard
of someone else that has that problem... somebody that a friend of a
friend knows... ;)

Nope. :)

ML> The miscalculation took place in maybe the '80s, maybe
ML> earlier, and it has been entrenched in the system. The
ML> airlines finally tumbled to the idiocy of it all, but
ML> nobody has been willing to dismantle the system for fear
ML> they give a competitive advantage to the enemy. Delta bit
ML> the bullet a few years ago, followed by United about two
ML> years ago, and American is going to follow suit by
ML> mid-'16. The free ride is over! A sad effect is that I
ML> may be flying back next week at least partway in coach.

Sigh. A nice ride while it lasted, though... :)

 ML> Yes and no - it's been a surprising cultural-economic
ML> battleground for a number of years, with many weird
ML> clashes among ethnic and other cultural entities.

True... there's been the recent fracking, and it is somewhat at a
crossroads location mid-state... And it clearly had some potential,
since there's been a Wegmans there for years.... ;)

ML> An amusement, that's what it was, once the initial
ML> shock wore off. Of course the woman's well on toward
ML> 90 and can't be expected to do what a brigade de
ML> cuisine would. But then I shouldn't have either.

So, next time, will it be Campbell's...? Or maybe Swansons or
Wegmans...? ;)

ML> You could ask Kraft if it has an archivist. Of course, if
ML> so, the person probably would be half our age and beginning
ML> to feel like in a backwater.

Probably... :)
