The one stretch of the Thruway I drive (once a year) from Syracuse to
Albany, I've noticed a diversity of prices... there has been one stop
that I've targeted to get gas at, being less than what I'd be paying
either in Mass or that side of the NY leg pre-Thruway...  IIRC, that one
tended to be about what the prices for the same gas would have been
closer to home.  Of course, I'm not usually getting from the major
brands anymore, since we've been gettin BJ's gas lately, which is much
less... :)

Likewise...  If I thought I'd have enough gas to get home, I'd not be
stopping for gas on the Thruway, either... and I bring my own food... ;)
