I think the limit for us is anything that fits the container and doesn't burst
it. I have seen them pick up some of the blue wheelie bins that were
overflowing with 30 gallon black tie bags full of detritus. But, they only will
empty the containers that are provided by Allied Waste/Republic Services. I did
a clear out of my spare (warehouse/junk) room and that week the bin was heavy
enough that I had trouble wheeling it to the curb for pick-up. I was a bit
concerned for the spindly axle and the cheap plastic wheels.

 -> If I am around on trash day (Thursday) I can usually tell from the sound
 -> of the hydraulics when the truck stops if it's a solo. Or lack of hydraulic
 -> pumps whining if it's a team.

Mostly we get the one man trucks. I suspect that when there are not enough of
the arm equipped trucks available or the arm is "kronk" we get a twofer. After
all machines work for less than humern beans.

Naaaah. They just call in more lawyers. Lawyers are professional foot draggers
(among other less acceptable things).

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

      Title: Slow-Poached Halibut W/White Beans & Escarole
 Categories: Seafood, Beans, Poultry, Chilies, Wine
      Yield: 4 Servings

MMMMM--------------------------HALIBUT-------------------------------
    1/4 c  Chopped shallots
      2 ts Chopped garlic
    1/2 tb Red pepper flakes
      2 ts Olive oil
    1/4 c  Dry white wine
  1 1/2 c  Chicken broth
      1 c  Quartered grape tomatoes
    1/2 c  Canned cannellini beans,
           - drained and rinsed
      2 ts Red wine vinegar
           Salt & black pepper
      4    Halibut filets; 5 oz. ea.
           - skinned, seasoned w/salt &
           - pepper

MMMMM--------------------------ESCAROLE-------------------------------
      1    Head escarole; trimmed,
           - chopped
    1/4 c  Water

  For the halibut, sauté the shallots, garlic, and pepper
  flakes in oil in a 10-inch nonstick ovenproof skillet over
  medium heat for 1 minute.

  Deglaze with wine and simmer until liquid is nearly
  evaporated, about 2 minutes.

  Add broth, tomatoes, beans, and vinegar; simmer 3-4 minutes,
  or until liquid is reduced slightly. Season with salt and
  pepper.

  Nestle filets in the tomato-bean mixture and transfer pan to
  the oven. Poach for 20-25 minutes, or until fish flakes
  easily with a fork.

  For the escarole, steam escarole with water in a large sauté
  pan over medium-high heat, covered, stirring occasionally
  until wilted, 2-3 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

  Divide greens among 4 shallow serving bowls. Spoon some of
  the tomato broth around the greens and top with a halibut
  filet.
