==============================
Hi Nancy,

RH> We go with whatever's in the area that strikes our fancy. Costa Vida
 RH> is on the lines of Moe's Southwestern Grill, Chipotle's or Quodoba's;
RH> we enjoyed it other times we were in the area. Deborah wanted C-F-A the
RH> previous day, the Carl's Jr. was lunch in Kingman on the way down from
 RH> LVNV. Our travel circle in previous trips had been more in that area;
RH> we began to roam more this trip and found the Fry's.

 NB> Different defaults... ;)

Yes, and we probably should look for more Asian places to add to the
variety of places we like to eat at. We've found a number of Middle
Eastern fast food places in the WF/Raleigh area--a lamb gyro for lunch
is acceptable any given day. (G)

RH> Because rice has so many carbs in it, we don't do Asian very often but
RH> do enjoy it from time to time.

NB> I had a minor double-take there... we rarely get much (if any) rice
NB> when we do the asian buffets... there's so much other stuff there...
NB> If we do sit-down, yes, rice comes with the entrees... but I don't
NB> think of Asian as being primarily rice....

But most of the time when we do Asian, it's sit down or take out so we
get the rice. I'm careful to take a limited amount but like to splurge
on an egg roll at times too and that adds some carbs. Also, not knowing
what's in the sauces makes it a bit chancy as I don't want to get one
that's loaded with sugar. I've given up on having duck sauce with the
egg roll because of the sugar (and hfcs) in it.

RH> Sometimes we deliberately look for it,
RH> other times, pick it by chance. A couple of weeks ago, something came
RH> up to where Steve was going to get some groceries and supper up at
RH> Lowe's, their Friday night fish fry. Just before he went out the door,
RH> he said something about maybe going over to the China Wok instead so I
RH> told him to go with that oprion. We split a seafood delight, had enough
RH> left over that I had it for lunch the next day as well.

NB> That sounds quite nice.. :)

It was; ever since I was a kid, I've enjoyed shrimp, scallops, fish, and
other seafood. Living on the coast of NC and GA, and in HI, it was nice
to get it fresh. We'd not had any seafood in a while so the seafood
delight was indeed, delightful.

RH> We're cooling down nicely; it was in the low 80s today. We'll probably
RH> grab jackets when we head out to the farmer's market tomorrow morning.

NB> We should probably have grabbed jackets, or at least worn longer
NB> sleeves yesterday when we went out grocery shopping, that high in the
 NB> 50s
NB> materialized... and was a wee bit chillier when we got outside than
NB> we'd been expecting... but, since the car was right there, and we
NB> figured the store would be warm enough, we didn't bother.. ;) Back
 NB> to the 60s
NB> today, and that's also forecast for tomorrow...

We had a high of 79 today, not sure what it was yesterday but
delightfully cool. Jackets were appreciated in the shade at the farmer's
market and this morning, walking to church.

RH> Tonight we used up the last of the propane in this tank grilling
RH> chicken and eggplant for supper but we'll refill it--still some good
RH> grilling weather yet before it turns cold. (G)

 NB> Probably a good two-three months for you... ;)

At least a couple of months, depending on how mild/cold the winter gets.
Since we had no gas, we did an omelette for supper last night, with
fried green tomatoes and sausage patties on the side. The tomatoes,
sausage, yellow squash and red tomatoes (latter two, with onion were
part of filling) were all from the farmer's market.

Catch you later,
Ruth
