A light windbreaker during the day and a slightly heavier jacket at
night, especially in the Catskills. Didn't need any jacket today at the
farmer's market or other run around. I got a yellow squash (similar to
patty pans), a butternut squash, a couple of tomatoes, a cucumber, an
eggplant (regular purple), some sourwood honey and a couple of empinadas
filled with kale, cheese and peppers.

No, even if it's not so good in your opinion, you don't let it go to
waste. Little chance it'll go ti waist in those conditions.

My parents would put a standard size portion on our plates, and expect
us to eat it without arguing or complaining. As we got older and fixed
our own plates, whenever possible we'd take a no thank you sized
portion. Sometimes we'd get hollered at and told to take more--so we did
but under duress. It just re-enforced our hatred of certain foods.

Mom never cooked (except for eggs) foods Dad didn't like. She'd put
raisins in some things but he could pick them out (we weren't allowed to
but I like them so that was a moot point). He never got a peanut butter
sandwich but I had to eat them, even tho I hated them. So, he worked
around his dislikes but didn't allow us to do so.
