I make some that are random scraps just sort of worked in together.  You 
never know what it will look like at the end.

A pretzel type thingie will have a lye bath involved.  I forget what they

I don't think the equipment is even made any more.

Oddly enough I just found chubs of pork roll in the supermarket - same
place 
that had the scrapple.  They cater to an older crowd, so it makes sense.

That helps, but it's not a cure.
