==============
Hi Ruth,

-> -> I understand. It's a mom thing.

->  RH> Definitely.  It's what moms do.

-> Been there, done that as I'm sure my girls have done so also.

 RH> I think it's endemic to moms.

So your sister does it too? (G)

 RH> found
-> RH> one piece in a pattern I'd never use, but snagged because it was
 RH> too cheap to pass up.

-> Somebody will benefit from it. My next QoV quilt will have 81 different

 RH> It has that sparkly stuff on it. I barely use it for Christmas crafts
 RH> and not otherwise. A friend loves the stuff.

I've not used it much but have seen some projects where it really makes
things pop.

-> fabrics in it (a 9 Patch) so I'm collecting them from various places
-> now. Added a dozen more to the stash yesterday, now I only need a half
-> dozen or so more. I'm pretty sure I've got them on hand.

 RH> If you don't I've got everything, seems like. I even found some
 RH> flannel in my basement I didn't remember owning.

So make yourself a a flannel shirt! I'm planning to sew up a few shirts
for myself (cut out a while ago) but no flannel ones in this batch. I
need to get more white flannel for a new baby quilt for a spring baby.

-> RH> We tend to do that. Some folks have also been known to bring fresh
-> RH> fruit. Whole fruit in the skin is generally easy to identify.

-> Unless you bring in something exotic. Durian, tho not easily
-> identifiable to most people, would probably scare most of them off with
-> the smell. (G)

 RH> We also tend to stick to the LCD stuff these days - lowest common
 RH> denominator. I'm bringing brownies. No nuts.

My kind of brownies! I cooked up some collards today, did it inside
instead of on the grill. Steve said it didn't smell too bad, could have
been worse. I asked him if a combo of durian and limburger would be
worse--his reaction was a prolonged ugh, uh, (generally yuck).

-> -> Done that a few times too. Right now I need to sew up a good punching
-> -> bag.

-> RH> I think I know why. Just don't let Steve at it; he's still healing.

-> He's been busy otherwise. Next week he sees the doctor that did the back
-> surgery for a check up.

 RH> Good. One problem out of your hair.

Hopefully. He seems to be doing a lot better, even without the brace
now. He's hoping he can get the go ahead to wear it even less than he
does now.

-> -> place to place--Steve was talking with management at this one & found
-> -> that out. We've found it true--eaten at TRs in AZ, FL, GA, NC & NY.

-> RH> There's one by a local shopping mall, no wonder I've never been
 RH> there.

-> If you're in the area, give them a try. I think you will agree with the
-> rest of us that have tried them, they do a decent steak.

 RH> One of these days....

And you won't regret it.

-> -> I'm trying to get caught up on several things still so will look into
-> -> that in a bit.

-> RH> No problem. Other stuff takes priority at the moment.

-> Yes, like writing up the description of the items in the the pictures we
-> took in NY. Also coming up with more and more missing items to add to
-> that list.

 RH> Yeah. It'll be the weird stuff that gets you.

True, and some of it was weird.

-> -> Good store than, otherwise? There was one in AZ we went to a few
 RH> times,

->  RH> Generally - after I taught them a few things.

-> Good that they straightened out, most make only token acknowledgements
-> of the situation it seems.

 RH> When a genuine problem is pointed out, they generally do something
 RH> about it.

Management was up to snuff then, good.

-> -> & Dad bought 20 pounds of potatoes but I ended up tossing at least
 RH> half as they'd gone bad in less than a week.

-> RH> Ick. Cheap for a reason. Sometimes it's worth it, if you're using
-> RH> things right away. Otherwise not so much.

-> My folks left a few days after Steve & I got back home. They used the
-> good potatoes, didn't see me sort thru what was left and tossing most of
-> them out. When the girls told us which store they'd been bought at, we
-> weren't surprised.

 RH> Can't say that's ever happened to me. I've gotten some onions that
 RH> rotted pretty quickly though.

And that's not fun, but beats rotten potatoes.

Catch you later,
