My ear was running, and the discharge was clear and not bad
smelling, ergo more likely allergy. Anyhow, it's gone now,
finally, thanks in large part to the Shipps giving me the
time and place for relatively long snoozal recuperations -
I've been averaging close to 10 hours these past few days.

Yeah, we've found that out, and Europe is best for that, as
every food establishment and possibly other businesses as
well are required to offer rest rooms. The US is pretty far
behind in these public health matters; I remember the
mixture of uproar and relief 30 or 40 years back when Boston
decreed that the toilets in all restaurants must be open to the
public, "rest rooms for customers only" signs notwithstanding.
Other American cities are still behind on this, though as one
ages one finds that a plaintive look will often get help.

This actually was originally disseminated by its developer
as a Halloween treat. Others here might question the
Singaporeanness of it - the author of the recipe is from
there and is a student at the technical university there.

Nepali Pistachio Ice-cream
categories: Nepal, sweet
Yield: 1 batch

2 c half and half
2 c whole milk
1 c khuwa (milk solids)
1 Tb cardamom seeds
1 c pistachio nuts, shelled and crushed
1 c sugar
1 c whole pistachio nuts for garnish

In a large pan, heat cream, milk, khuwa, cardamom, pistachios,
and sugar. Stir constantly and allow cooking for 30 min or
longer until the amount is reduced by one third. Take off the
heat and allow cooling.

In a blender, combine the cooled milk mixture into a smooth
ice-cream mixture. Pour the mixture into a bowl and place in
freezer for at 8-12 hr. After the ice-cream has stiffened,
add whole pistachio nuts and fold gently in the ice-cream.
Serve immediately.
