I got into the plastic habit when I began buying many things on-line - and
before Pay-Pal was very widely available at many merchants. Mostly debit cards.
I am at the point that I write very few cheques. Mostly the monthly lot-rent
and/or dealing with the State of Illinois where they whack you a 5% "service
fee" to accept plastic. These days I carry very little ca$h beyond tip money
and some for small incidentals - like a soda from a vending machine. Pay-Pal
used to have (and may still) a one-time Master Card service where they would
generate a Master Card account number for you to pay an on-line merchant who
may have been for whatever reason appearing a bit shaky to you. The number was
good only for the nearest $5 to the amount you were paying and expired within a
few days of issue. Pay-Pal, of course, still scored the $$$ right from your
bank account.

Yes'm ..... 'twas. Here's an example

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

      Title: Grapefruit-Crab Cocktail
 Categories: Appetisers, Seafood, Citrus, Chilies
      Yield: 8 servings

      1 c  Canned crab meat; chilled,
           - drained
      1 tb Lemon juice
     16 oz Can grapefruit segments;
           - chilled, drained
           Lettuce leaves for serving

MMMMM---------------------------SAUCE-------------------------------
    1/2 c  Mayonnaise
      2 tb Catsup
      1 tb lemon juice
           Tabasco or other hot sauce

  Flake and pick over crab meat. Sprinkle with lemon juice.
  Alternate grapefruit and crab in lettuce-lined cocktail
  glasses.

  Combine sauce ingredients well. Chill. Pour over.

  Makes 8 servings
