Which turned out to be for the good when I married Steve. He didn't have
to suffer thru too many inedible meals.

But unfortunately, most young folks don't learn how to cook from their
parent's instruction or home ec these days. They're forced to sink or
swim. Even with the exposure Rachel had to cooking at home she still
called me to ask about techniques--and still asks, but more often only
when we're visiting. OTOH Deborah just goes at it full tilt. (G)

So my dad has learned that mashed potatoes, a side vegetable and roast
don't always have to be the main menu. Mom did do things like meat loaf,
some spaghetti (her lasange was Very forgettable), beef stew, etc but
very bland & borning. Dad has enjoyed the way I adapted them once I left
home (and married Steve, who's half Italian).
