A statin taken with gemfibrozil leads to myopathy (I think that's the right
term).  My "bad" cholesterol is getting closer to being in tolerance, but my
"good" cholesterol has a way to go.

It's the VA.  My doctor just has a diabetes jag and that's why I was
transferred to him evidently, but if things don't change, I'm switching
doctors.  My foot problems are service-connected and he knows this as I've
pointed it out to him several times.  I also have ingrown toenails and I've
requested a consult with podiatry about it.  He's just being obtuse for some
reason about it.

I'm a diabetic so I can see the eye doctor every year and for the past couple
of years, because of my low income, my eye doctor has been kind enough to allow
me to get my glasses for free.  I'm seen by the same eye doctor every year and
I have a two-hour eye exam.  He's a great guy and really goes into excruciating
(sp?) detail to make sure my prescriptions are right because of my unusual
"prescription".

Dentistry?  Unless I'm 100% disabled, forget it.  I'm out on the "civilian
market" for getting my teeth worked on.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

      Title: Three-Cheese Manicotti
 Categories: Italian, Pasta, Cheese
      Yield: 6 Servings

      1 cn (8 ounces) tomato sauce
      1    Envelope spaghetti sauce
           Mix
      2 c  Shredded mozzarella cheese
      1 c  Cream-style cottage cheese
    1/2 c  Grated parmesan cheese
      2    Eggs, beaten
    1/4 c  Snipped parsley
    1/2 ts Salt
    1/8 ts Pepper
      8    Manicotti shells, cooked
           And drained

   Blend tomato sauce, spaghetti sauce mix, and 1 1/2 cup water. Simmer,
  uncovered for 10-12 minutes.  Meanwhile, combine 1 cup mozzarella,
  cottage cheese, and Parmesan.  Add eggs, parsley, salt, and pepper;
  mix lightly. Stuff manicotti shells with cheese mixture, using about
  1/4 cup for each. Pour 1/2 cup of sauce mixture in to 12 x 7 1/2 x
  2-inch baking dish. Arrange manicotti in dish; pour remaining sauce
  atop. Sprinkle with remaining mozzarella.  Bake uncovered at 350
  until bubbly, 25-30 minutes.
