That sounds like an excellent location then.  When we were in SE NY state a
trip to Baltimore was "just" 4 hours IIRC.. maybe a bit less.  It was a
workable day-trip that we made often.  I don't know what it would be now, but I
guess you know how long it takes since we've moved to the Ithaca area (g).

Yes, I remember your mentioning the wildlife there - always sounded neat. Here
we've got more than I care to have hehehe.. neighbors tell me their cats are
kept inside because of the coyote population.  Our guys refuse to listen though
and insist on going out on nightly hunts.  These cats were born in the Ithaca
rural areas though and survived by themselves until they were adopted by the
Ithaca Animal Shelter so I have a feeling they are 'coyote-wise'.  In
otherwords, I suspect they don't go far from where our dogs would make a ruckus
if something like that was around.  I did try to keep them "in", but they just
refuse to stay put and find ways to get out every time.

Warwick, NY, where I grew up was a large area geographically in Orange County
NY, but the village itself was very small.. kind of like Windsor NY was, but
with a slightly larger population due to dairy farms in Warwick (way back). Now
Warwick has literally exploded compared to when I was a child.

I was back in Scranton, PA, yesterday to visit my ill aunt (we're going back
today most likely), and even Scranton has changed so much since I was a
teen-ager.. Scranton was essentially where I spent most of my teen years since
my cousins were all about the same age as I was..  It was great going back to
Scranton yesterday though the reasons for the trip were a bit depressing.. This
is Dad's youngest sister who is now so very ill.. just 72.. Doesn't seem fair
but such is life.

:)  I guess you lost your Missouri accent long ago (bg).. I was born in
Passaic NJ.. My Dad decided in about 1956 that NY looked a lot better.  I still
remember how my mother hated Warwick's country lifestyle compared to what she
was used to :) She grew up in Scranton,  college at Keystone College so not far
from home I guess... then married.  Warwick was quite a culture shock for her
I'd bet in any case.
