I'm not squeamish.

It was, and after all that there remained a half of a CFS, which
I stuck in the fridge and ate today (a couple days later still).
I think that CFing an S cooks out all the bad things, and ovens
are pretty clean places. I often store things in the oven, first
heating both contents and oven to boiling temperature. Then I
deem everything sterile, which it is for all intents and purposes.
Afterward, if someone balks at eating the stuff, I mutter under
my breath GFY; but if someone eats heartily, I also mutter under
my greath GFY.

See above. Lola is an equal opportunity thief - sometimes I
think she's deliberately stealing my food, but in fact she
steals shamelessly from the other cats and screams at them
when they complain. Annie of course is inconsistent in her
guidance, sometimes shooing Lola from the table but also
occasionally letting her eat off her plate or even the
serving plates.

Ugh. That would be an example, but the stuff of which that
stuffing was made was much darker.

I've had myself excised from photos before. Makes one
feel unwanted.

Annie has decided that grits are a pain to make, and combined
with my pfui attitude towards them, she's decided to make
shrimp creole instead, intending to serve it over the dirty
rice that I proposed to make. I pointed out that shrimp creole
doesn't really go with dirty rice, which had the effect of
making more work for me - I will make regular as well as dirty.

For dessert, Anne down the street is making a cheesecake, and
Annie proposed to make a pound cake (I will pair this with
vanilla ice cream and crushed peppermint candy, perhaps with
whipped cream as well), but when the RSVPs approached 35 people,
she decided that she needed more desserts. I said just make two
pound cakes, economies of scale and all that, but now we're
planning on chocolate chip blondies and a pecan pie as well.
One is not ill-fed when visiting Annie's house.

As it turns out, we went to the restaurant's Christmas party,
and the chef wasn't particularly friendly to me; but one of
her waitresses was, as Annie puts it, all over me like a cheap
suit. The waitress, actually quite attractive, is not invited
to our party.

Sauce for "aphrodisiacal artichokes"
cat: sauce, veg
servings: 4

1/2 ts dry mustard
5 Tb olive oil
3 Tb tarragon vinegar
1 garlic clove minced
s & p
1 ts finely chopped green olives

Mix first 4 ingredients. Season. Stir in olive bits.
Serve in tiny individual bowls, alongside hot drained
artichokes that have been boiled until tender with lemon.
