Oh, no doubt he'd be nuts anyway, but if brought up normally
he might have been no more nuts than my sister and I were,
which is nonzero but nondangerous.

Free booze is the important thing. Of course, the uncomfortableness
of the seats makes the booze more important, but as the world goes,
you get either booze + comfort or nonbooze + discomfort.

Speaking of which, my upgrades for Asia haven't cleared. It's
ten days out. If I ditched Lilli from my reservation, my
chances would be up to about 100%, but hers would plummet to
about 20%. I think but am not sure that United offers some
token free booze on transpacific flights.

Today's invited guests for our holiday party included
in among the run of lawyers and docs and realtors and
such (Annie's friends, not mine) a pet crematorium
operator, an government person who monitors transmissions
in weird languages, and a vendor of ball bearings and
such to Audi or BMW I forget which. All "interesting"
in one sense and probably dead boring in the other.

At least all the ingredients go sort of together, and it
really doesn't matter what order they are in. Once in a
while we see an interesting recipe where the ingredients
don't match the instructions. Sometimes they're interesting
enough to get posted anyway, and if I fully catch the
incongruities, I will mention that they exist.

Actually, recipes are one of the least important parts of
the conference to me; I started putting in ontopicizers
as an ironic gesture after being spurred by some kind of
whine about not doing enough of them!

Source unknown is a red flag, though for really bad
recipes I tend to be more descriptive than that.

Indeed, but if you have ever tasted canned crab you
should understand the purpose of such dishes.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v7.07

      Title: Toasted Crab Rolls
 Categories: Breads, good luck
   Servings:  6

      1    Small can crab meat
      1    Small green pepper or
           -pimiento, minced
      1    Small grated onion
    1/4 c  Finely cut celery
      1 tb Minced parsely
           Salt, pepper and mayonnaise
           (Good Luck) margarine
           Cheese and bacon for topping

  Note: Ingredients in parenthesis are brand names from the sponsors of the
  radio programs. Many no longer exist.

  Mix all together, seasoning to taste and moisten with mayonnaise. Split
  dinner rolls and spread with margarine. Then spread with crab mixture and
  over this lay a thin slice of cheese and a strip of bacon. Place in oven to
  allow cheese to soften and the bacon to crisp.
