==============
Hi Ruth,

-> But you're not moving every so often; that sort of limits my building a
-> big collection. (G)

 RH> True. I tend to have others' leftovers in my stash somewhere.

I've got some of that, and another UFO quilt besides the Attic Windows
one you sent. This one is partly assembled tho.

-> RH> I suppose as emergency food. I usually keep some of those protein
-> RH> bars around for the purpose.

-> String cheese also has no carbs; the protein bars usually have a fair
-> amount. I try to keep my night time snacking under 20 carbs; I don't
-> like to go to bed with a lot in my stomach anyway.

 RH> The bar sometimes doubles as lunch, so the carbs are fine. I
 RH> generally don't eat them in the house; they're primarily road food.

The bar is sometimes part of a quick breakfast for me, then I do better
for lunch and supper.

-> RH> Can he soak the bad one at least, sometimes? Or would that take
 RH> more
-> RH> physical effort than either of you can handle right now?
 RH> ->
-> He's not tried that--yet--but will have to wait until we get back home.

 RH> Can't hurt, at least not the feet. Heat makes a good painkiller if
 RH> nothing else.

We're home but he said the foot was doing pretty good earlier. Went out
for gas and picking up a few things at Lowe's this afternoon as well as
going over to the post office for our mail.

-> RH> the rack. I did almost luck into a dress today in a charity store,
-> RH> but it was cut "down to there" and for a miracle the sleeves were
 RH> too long. I thin

-> Could have deconstructed it some and used some of the fabric from the
-> sleeves in other areas.

 RH> Not that fabric or the way it was cut. Ultra stretchy knits are no
 RH> good for that.

No, not really. More problems than it would have been worth the effort.

-> -> I think it was a lady's head but yes, a red/orange background.

-> RH> That's either a shell cameo or a simulant. No way to be sure
 RH> without seeing it.

-> And we doubt we'll ever see it again. I got a cameo that belonged to my
-> great grandmother that was made of pink conch shell. Had it cleaned &
-> appraised, now in a secure location.

 RH> Good idea. They don't go for much these days, but if the case is real
 RH> some idjut might melt that down and toss the cameo.

The surround on the cameo is a fair quantity of gold, forget what k but
it appraised at a pretty penny. It's not for sale tho.

-> -> OK, what is eilat stone? One piece taken was a 6 armed silver menorah
-> -> charm, another was a double sided widow's mite/Roman glass charm
 RH> (round, held together with a gold band)--acquired both at The
 Jesus Boat museum. That's where I picked up an Israeli cook book too.
 (G)

-> RH> Dark green and black, chrysocolla family. Also called Solomon's
 RH> Stone. It's mined out in Israel although there are deposits of
 similar stone

-> Interesting, never heard of it.

 RH> You don't have four synagogues within local driving distance. Five,

Nearest one is in Raleigh, probably at least 15 miles from where we are.

 RH> come to think. I also have to read up on jewelry so I don't sell
 RH> something too cheap.

Understandable.

-> RH> elsewhere. Are you sure, btw, that it was a six-armed menorah and
 RH> not

-> Yes, the 6 arm one is a big symbol of the country; it's even on the
-> Parliment building. Was given it at The Jesus Boat museum when we bought
-> the Widow's Mite/Roman Glass piece.

 RH> OK, that one.

Yes, that one. (G)

-> and RH> Roman Glass jewelry are both available in the US if you know
-> where to look, but I've never seen a double sided pendant.
-> Not that I've looked. Israeli candy and snack food yes, Roman
-> glass pendants with coins on the back not so much.

-> I know, I haven't found it yet. Trying to find it with a gold band like
-> the one that was taken.

 RH> Most glass pieces I've seen have been imported or sold directly from
 RH> Israel.
 RH> They were generally in sterling.

So I've seen, and I have done a fair amount of looking.

Catch you later,
