Our gutter guard is a product that is installed over the gutters and is
supposed to let the water wick around it into the gutter, while at the
same time sending the leaves on across to the ground.  It pretty much
works as intended, but the maple seed pods do have a tendency to wick
around instead of going on over.

No screens.  Back before we had the leaf guards, that would have helped,
but now the downspouts don't get clogged at the bend.

Especially considering the fact that the gutters in the rear of the
house are three stories from the ground.  It is a pretty long ladder
climb, and my legs and knees don't take kindly to that anymore.


MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05
 
      Title: Grilled Ham, Caramelized Onion, Apple, & Cheese Sandwiche
 Categories: Sandwich
      Yield: 4 servings
 
      8 sl Sourdough bread -- 1/2"
           -thick
           Dijon Glaze mayonnaise --
    3/4 c  Caramelized Onion -- at room
           -temperature
      4    Thin ham slices -- at room
           -temperature
      1    Tart apple
           -cored and sliced about 1/4"
           -thick
      4 sl Jarlsberg or Swiss cheese
           olive oil
 
  Brush one side of each slice of bread with a thin coating of Dijon
  Glaze. Spread mayonnaise on 1 slice per sandwich.  Layer 1/4 of the
  onion and ham, a layer of apple slices, a slice of cheese on
  mayonnaise slice, and top with remaining slice of bread.  Brush the
  top and bottom of each sandwich with oil and grill in a pan or
  sandwich grill (don't press the top of the grill) until the bread is
  crisp and golden brown and the cheese has melted.
  
  NOTES : Yield: 4 sandwiches.
