I've taken relatively few tours, and these have at least paid
lip service to introducing the tourists to the local food. Once
I was with my sister and b-i-l, and the tour meal, included,
was at some trap, and I just said no, telling the guide that we
wanted to eat where he was going to eat, and we'd pay. We ended
up at some hole in the wall with incredibly delicious stewed
beef brisket with basil and soy. I think that likely the set
included meal would have been burgers or something.

  -- i.e. not too exciting.  One prime example was

On the other hand, you once got pasta with caviar, if I
recall correctly.

Easier I think to melt marshmallows, which do the same
thing and are cheap enough.

      Title: Peanut Butterscotch Chews
 Categories: Candies
   Servings:  6

    1/2 c  Peanut Butter
      6 oz Butterscotch Chips
      4 c  To 8 c cereal (Corn Flakes,
           -Wheatees, you name it)

  Slowly melt the peanut butter and the Butterscotch chips until creamy.
  Remove from heat and stir in cereal so that all pieces are as coated as
  desired (If you want it sweeter use less cereal if you want to stretch it
  out use more.)

  NOTE: Do not use Cholesteral free peanut butter. In order for the Chips to
  melt they need the oil of the peanut butter. I found this out the hard way,
  but I made the best of a bad situation by making buterscotch
