Description
W32/Rbot-ABX is an IRC backdoor Trojan and network worm.

W32/Rbot-ABX may spread to remote network shares protected by weak
passwords and computers vulnerable to common exploits. The worm also
opens up a backdoor, allowing unauthorised remote access to infected
computers via the IRC network, while running in the background as a
service process. The worm exploits vulnerabilities including: RPC-DCOM
(MS04-12), LSASS (MS04-11) and IIS5SSL (MS04-011). For patches for these
vulnerabilities, see:

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/MS04-011.mspx
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/MS04-012.mspx

W32/Rbot-ABX can receive commands from a remote intruder to delete
network shares, log keypresses, participate in DDoS attacks, scan other
computers for vulnerabilities, steal passwords, steal registration keys
for computer games, create administrator accounts, terminate firewall
and anti-virus processes and capture video from webcameras attached to
the computer.

Prevalence (1-5) 2

Description
W32/Mytob-BZ is a mass-mailing worm and backdoor Trojan that can be
controlled through the Internet Relay Chat (IRC) network.

W32/Mytob-BZ is capable of spreading through email and through various
operating system vulnerabilities such as LSASS (MS04-011).

W32/Mytob-BZ harvests email addresses from files on the infected
computer and from the Windows address book.

Advanced
W32/Mytob-BZ is a mass-mailing worm and backdoor Trojan that can be
controlled through the Internet Relay Chat (IRC) network.

When first run W32/Mytob-BZ copies itself to the Windows system folder
as taskgmr.exe and creates the following registry entries:

HKCU\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa
W1NTASK
taskgmr.exe

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\OLE

W32/Mytob-BZ copies itself to the root folder as:

funny_pic.scr
my_photo2005.scr
see_this!!.scr

and drops a file called hellmsn.exe (detected by Sophos as W32/Mytob-D)
in the same location. This component attempts to spread the worm by
sending the aforementioned SCR files through Windows Messenger to all
online contacts.

W32/Mytob-BZ also appends the following to the HOSTS file to deny access

    * Downloads code from the internet
    * Reduces system security
    * Installs itself in the Registry

Aliases
    * Trojan-Proxy.Win32.Mitglieder.gen

Prevalence (1-5) 2

Description
Troj/Lohav-R is a proxy server and downloader Trojan.

Advanced
Troj/Lohav-R is a proxy server and downloader Trojan.

The Trojan runs continuously in the background providing a SOCKS proxy
server on a TCP port (the default port is 9030).

Data can be routed to other computers via the proxy in order to bypass
access restrictions and to hide the IP address of the source computer.

When first run the Trojan copies itself to %SYSTEM%\winhost.exe.

The following registry entry is created to run winhost.exe on startup:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
winhost.exe
%SYSTEM%\winhost.exe

Registry entries are also created under:

HKCU\Software\Timeout\

Troj/Lohav-R downloads a file from a preconfigured URL to the file
regsvr32.exe in the Windows folder and executes it. At the time of
writing, this file is detected as Troj/Padodor-U.

Troj/Lohav-R terminates the following processes:

Description
W32/Rbot-ABQ is a member of the W32/Rbot family of worms with a backdoor
component that spread on weakly protected network shares on the Windows
platform.

W32/Rbot-ABQ also has a backdoor component that allows a malicious user
remote access to an infected computer.

Advanced
W32/Rbot-ABQ is a member of the W32/Rbot family of worms with a backdoor
component that spread on weakly protected network shares on the Windows
platform.

W32/Rbot-ABQ spreads to network shares with weak passwords and via
network security exploits as a result of the backdoor Trojan element
receiving the appropriate command from a remote user.

W32/Rbot-ABQ copies itself to the Windows system folder with the
filename N0D32KRN.EXE and creates entries at the following locations in
the registry with the value "Nod3d2 Free antivirus" so as to run itself
on system startup, resetting these values every 8 seconds:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices

W32/Rbot-ABQ also sets the following registry entry with the same value
to point to itself:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\OLE
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\OLE
HKCU\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa

W32/Rbot-ABQ attempts to set the following registry entries every 2
minutes:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Ole
EnableDCOM
"N"

HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa
restrictanonymous
"1"

W32/Rbot-ABQ attempts to delete network shares on the host computer
every 2 minutes.

W32/Rbot-ABQ also has a backdoor component that allows a malicious user
remote access to an infected computer.

When run the worm attempts to contact a remote IRC server and join a
specific channel to listen for commands.

W32/Rbot-ABQ may attempt to terminate certain processes relating to
anti-virus and security programs.

W32/Rbot-ABQ may attempt to overwrite the HOSTS file to prevent access
to certain anti-virus websites.

W32/Rbot-ABQ may attempt to log keystrokes to the file KES.TXT in the
Windows system folder.
