It seems too me this explanation is wrong. Saddam was glad to sell Iraqi oil
to make money. Another matter was he allowed to. ;-) In any case I have hot
heard that he told that he did want to sell oil.

Talibans were not able to catch Bin Laden even they wanted to, as much as
the current Afghan government wants now. Do Americans can catch all
criminals on their own soil? Of course not. When Bush thought that it is
easier
to catch criminal in Afghanistan than in the US he showed to the world his
level.
And of course the US could pursue Bin Laden without taliban permission. It
would been allowed to avoid civil war in Afghanistan. At least. But instead
the US began support the minority of the Afghan population. This means only
one thing - current Afghan governmant is not able to hold power. And will
not be able. The dead child was born, but this child nevertheless is sucking
American blood. And it will demands it.

Also it is funny to hear from Mr. Bush, that withdrawal of troops from
Afganistan means something bad for the US. Bush said that America will be in
danger. But America already is in danger. Only the safety measures are
providing the absence of terrorist attacks in the US. So there is no any
difference where American troops are. I think the US will be more safe with
its troops inside own country.

1. During this war opium became the only mean for Afghan people survival.
2. When the country paralysed by war it is impossible to fight it.
3. Taliban fought with problem too.

This is the most probable scenario. But the West must understand that moslem
radicalism the matter its own hands. It is corrert to compare moslem world
with ruined hive. The West must know who is the bear.
