Definately.  Most .ru echos actually have rules that prevent my entry in them.
The Japan one, gave me a waiver as i'm the only site in Japan and cant fix my
end without changing softwares.

Though Z6 is being demized shortly, I didnt have the luxury as a ZC, to swap
softwares to ones that were not as stable when I'm at sea as much as 9 months
of the year.

TG has 2 problems (quoting truncation and the softCR) but has no other problems
and my system hasnt crashed in 6 years other than the rare door-game (which
are the door and that one door is offline to users).  EXITILUS hangs sometimes
and only I play it so I'm here to reboot if that happens.

With me being at sea so much, folks generally understand once explained, why I
cant change softwares.  I need a system like this one, that ran 8.5 months
straight on autopilot while I was deployed to the gulf.  It wasnt even
rebooted once during that time.

Thats also why I dont automate Makenl.  I manually run it so the system wont be
sending updates when I'm at sea, so I can manually make changes even at sea at
need.  Z6 doesnt change all that often <grin>.  Most common change has been
Anatoli changing static IP's.  I just email the new segment off to Bob Seaborn
and he gets it to Janis who hatches it when I'm at sea.  Done that 5 or 6
times.

Cant tell for sure if I made E9 yet, but the odds are less than 5% since thats
the advancement ratio this year.  I'm supposed to leave in October but if i
did make E9 (MasterChief) then my orders will change.

TG is Telegard, the BBS program I use.  RG is Renegade which sprang off an
earlier TG beta version of code that was accidently released.  RG would be the
easist one for me to transition to as it's extremely similar and it's still
under production unlike TG (last TG author lost the code around late 2000 or
early 2001).

The new RG author said he'd help me transition and he seems a very good felow
to work with.  He's had problems getting the RG echo on the backbone so i told
him he's welcome to use the TG echo.  Long ago the sysops of TG and RG used to
fight but that's ancient stuff.
