Hi, PETER COGGON! How are you?
on Saturday, 21 of April, you wrote to ALEXANDER KORYAGIN
about "Re: Hello Alexander [1/2]"

But when the country unleash the war it has contracts enough for all, not
"for the members only." ;) It is very difficult to refuse from money.

The guilt was not on Stalin alone. The situation changed all the nation. It
is difficult to say who must be blamed of more -- Stalin, because he had
built Gulag, or a particular unknown person who informed the KGB that his
neighbour was a spy or ultra-radical. The former is a single person, but we
can count a lot of second ones.

PC> The threat was there. Now it isn't and we have this mess. Looking
PC> into the east from Berlin, it was evident who's citizens were better

PC> a spy exchange.
AK>> It easy to explain. When a person immigrate to America he wants money.

PC> Not everyone. They just didn't go to America. It wasn't all for
PC> money.

Tell me another reason. May be someone from Iraq would be happy to live in
America without money at all. Just be as far as possible from the local
democracy. It is true; but it is doubtful evidence.

AK>> There are also people and for them money is not the main thing. To
AK>> live in such a style was possible everywhere, there was no need to
AK>> have a flat in the USSR.

PC> We have flats here too. And we can also get homes, and then for
PC> 30years pay mortgages for these homes, or even rent.

This policy reminds me the serfdom. Actually people are not free when they
have to pay for 30 years significant part of their money and not able to
leave the owner who lent them money. But may be every part of this world
have two sides.

AK>> If somebody wanted to help the USSR he could do it. By the way,
AK>> exactly by this way we got a lot of top secrets from the West. ;-)

PC> True. We had spys too. The big difference is, we're an open
PC> society. If you wanted an atomic sub plans, it was easy just to buy a
PC> well detailed model, as pointed out many times. No need to spy. Many
PC> top secrets as you put it, were never found.

The difference is that that when who hired the spy in the USSR it was a
scum, who worked for money. But our spies and sympathizers (in the West)
were highly educated people the top of the western culture and science. Of
course if I forgot about the Nazi scientists which were embraced by the US
after the WW2. You are not very scrupulous sometime when you need a quick
result. I think that fon Brown hardly was prone to send messages to Moscow.
;-)

PC> Take care Alexander...I was watching Moscow weather today...it looks
PC> really nice over there.

Two weeks ago we had a great snow

Now we have a quite cold April. ;)

[...A close mouth catches no flies]
Bye PETER!
