N.R.C.:
Thank you for your reassurance that the role of the CNS as "the source of the
information under discussion is well understood". I wish it would be so for
everyone in sbe, but it is not yet (at least I have no sufficient indications).

I hope you remember that it is already 5 years ago (November, 1999) that I have
started to post in sbe to show that the CNS is the source of epigenetic
information for metazoan morphology.
I also put my ideas on the role of CNS in the individual development and in the
evolution of metazoans in my book, Quantic Evolution I published in January
2001. Thereafter, I posted numerous articles in the sbe elaborating on the
mechanism of the CNS control of the development and change of metazoan
morphology.

At the time, my view on the epigenetic nature of the information for morphology
coming from the brain and the mechanism of its translation into animal
structure was for the most part, was not accepted by most of the participants
in the discussion ( so., e.g., according to Anon (Aug. 2001) "the mechanism
that makes the CNS "decide" to send out a signal is coded for in genes" and,
despite adequate experimental evidence I had presented, A. Gardner (July 2001)
would call my hypothesis on the epigenetic information in the CNS based on "a
product of unrestrained phantasy not on a biological fact." (In the meantime, I
have had a chance to present my hypothesis on the epigenetic control of animal
morphology to a number of well known biologists of our time and use their
suggestions for developing it into a theory of the neural control of
development).

In your reply to my post, on January 6/ 2001 you wrote: "Of course in organisms
with complex nervous systems there are also epigenetic effects from the
environment - but the rest of the discussion seems to suggest you're thinking
about some source of heritable information". I am not sure whether now you
consider the CNS carrier and generator of the epigenetic information as the
quote me are refering to sems to suggest:

I thank you for making me aware of the group of authors that share my view on
the role of the CNS as source of information for metazoan morphology. However,
the material you refered me to, does not elaborate on the nature, the
mechanisms of generation, and flow of that information from the CNS for
developing or maintaining the animal morphology, for the possible relations of
this epigenetic information with the genetic information and genetic system of
heredity, the mechanisms of its translation into animal morphology, etc. It was
unfortunate for me not to have been aware of it before I sent for publication
my book THE NEURAL CONTROL OF DEVELOPMENT - An Epigenetic Theory of Heredity in
Metazoans (in Press).

Thank you,
