Huh?  Montgomery *needed* the help of the U.S. troops.

explain?

Montgomery made massive blunders. It's even documented in a fine 
movie, "A Bridge Too Far".  He was an egomaniac.  Eisenhower 
had to *constantly* keep him in line.

You Europeans certainly have a *fantastic* view of history.  BTW, 
have you ever read "The Wizard of Oz"?  You'd like it.  It's just 
like another of your "history" books!
