After some night's sleep I'm continuing reading ... ;-)

The shipping-world does not work that way. Any cargo for a destination in the
EU is pre-inspected and pre-cleared in its port of departure and you cannot
just sail a vessel with unspecified uncleared "general cargo" into the Northsea
and get away with it.
 
Because the English Channel and the Northsea are so heavily used there are VTS
(Vessel Traffic Services), compare it to Air Traffic Control, and an Iranian
cargo with uncleared "general cargo" would be stopped and boarded for
inspection by the coastguard of one of the nations involved.

"It's been rumored" there were WMD's in Iraq too, someone even claimed to have
the proof.

Correction, some are still flyworthy. The majority has been canibalised for
parts.

Interesting, then what was the co-pilot of that Egyptair 767 thinking of?

You find Russian pilots everywhere, but not flying combat aircraft in Iran.

Of course. And things flying in Iran are mostly American made, badly maintained
and no new parts. Iran Air still is not cleared to fly in American airspace
because its maintenance procedures do not conform with NTSB-guidelines.

As a citizen of the country who has upgraded their C130's with glass-cockpits
(plasma-screens as if it were the flight-deck of a 777) and always has a bunch
of American C130's parked here for the same modifications I can tell you the
Iranian C130's are in much the same configuration as the day they were
delivered. They do not have the expertise.

Aw 'cmon, stay reasonable. He had refueled at a British military base and let
the flight computer handle the complete flight. He hopped on one of the
westbound airways without clearance, since there is no ATC over the ocean
pilots among themselves handled it and moved themselves out of the way. Over
North American soil he disregarded completely instructions and still let the
flight computer perform the flight, ATC had to keep other traffic away. Then
when approaching Kennedy he picked-up the ILS and landed without procedure nor
contacting the tower.
 
After landing he called the tower at Kennedy in Arabic and started his
backtrack.
 
That, Shannon, is an idiot. And no, it wasn't a good pilot. A friend of mine
was flying a JFK-bound jet that day.
 
After 9/11 he would have been shot down.
