Hehe i think thats the only time the 2 clash a bit.  Something in the bible
about not 'boiling a kid in it's mothers milk' seems to relate?  Buttered
chicken is ok.  Buttered beef is not.

Yes, but seems there's something about how the animal is treated first as well.
I'm not real clear on that.  I just know they both seem to agree with each
other's version as well as the Kobe beef here.  I have no clue really on
'kobe' treatment and why it seems ok to them both, but they both will get it
when they can afford it.  To me, Kobe Beef raising is a bit like a battery
chicken's life and I am wierded out that this seems acceptable.

Heheh I too thought it 'wierd' til I tried it.  Realize I'm NOT using tasteless
bits of pre-cooked white meat (that would be disgusting).  I'm basically
making chicken in lots of tomato sauce with spices (very italian) then putting
it over spagetti noodles.

Hehe you'd love the local foods but would have to be selective if you wanted to
keep close to the jewish diet.  Here, people eat *anything edible* and their
definition of that can be a bit 'non-western'.

Don and i like to experiment so we've tried all sorts of things and like
getting live seafoods which hilarously have occasionally escaped on us at the
oddest of times/locations either from my sink or my shopping cart enroute
home.

I told recently in the Cooking echo about the 'eel that got away' as it
slithered out of my shopping cart in the middle of the Tonoo Market (didnt
upset the locals but scared the pee out of a newbie to here) and the live sea
squirt fight in my kitchen between Charlotte and Don (what a mess to clean
up! But I was laughing the whole time so it was good).
