Yes thanks, thats exactly the sort of statement that would be much better, as
it provides some rationale about the reply to the question. In the above case,
your justification was based on there being a dangerous enemy so you defended
yourself.

Thats a very strange reply when we are clearly discussing YOU, not ME...

So just how does one KNOW if one has been brainwashed or not?

Consider "glib" to be the same as the first reply above, a "glib" reply is an
unqualified reply that may not be a direct reply to a question.

Frank, you should NEVER admit to these things, probably without realising it
you have just stated that the SOLE reason for invading Iraq was to provide a
commercial advantge to the USA. One of the founding principles of Democracy is
the belief that there should be open business opportunities to the commercial
environment, and according to what you have just said above, that is the sole
reason for the USA to "rescue" Iraq.

I doubt that. Most of the remaining Arab countries have fairly strong controls
in place that allow then to control any "Capital based" market that tries to
take hold. Soe of them may be a Democracy, but it is realy only a token one at
this stage.

Unfortunately, he did not. GWB used his "response" to a false threat to "hide"
(ineffectively as it turns out) his real intentions. What is hurting him so
much is that like a stack of cards, it only took one to be removed before the
house came tumbling down.

GWB is not out in the field with his finger on the trigger, so compassion
doesn't enter into it. He already knows he is skating on very thin ice, so now
has to keep HIS profile low on this one. It will be interesting to see how he
backs the USA out of this one.
