Whatever he was finally convicted of was what the legal world calls a
deal. He could have initially been charged with a major crime, but the
charges dropped to a lessor crime. No one here knows the original charge,
but the length of his sentence, or at least the time served, was very
little compared with what those here have been sentenced to for that
crime.

That wouldn't make a bit of difference. That police (person) is immune and
protected from such matters in this country.

I know. That's the difference between someone who knows he's guilty and
soneone who's just stubborn and has to learn the hard way.
