What gets me about Michigan law regarding deer is that the State 
used to make the claim that it "owned" the wild deer here.  Yet 
it refused to pay for the damage its "property" did by standing 
like idiots in the middle of the road letting cars run into them.

I've had it once or twice, which was twice as many times as I 
really wanted it.
