That is a great idea, altho I don't know if I would do that. I
tend to like to be able to determine just what happened if an
echo-war occured from my system, so that necessitates me being
able to read the area. I have turned off areas and made them
passthru just because the moderator was draconian. I believe in
protecting my users from idiot moderators just as much as I believe
in mod's right to be idiots. :)

Hubbing would be another matter. Offering them as passthru to
downlinks I would have no problems with.

Myself, I'm half and half. It was totally stupid of him to try to
use moderator emeritus in the mod verb. He was told unacceptable,
had to be a contactable person, and I as a sysop who might have to
deal with a complaint, sure would like to know exactly whom is in
charge and has the power. Felton was just being childish and was
looking for a fight by insisting on naming all previous moderators
as moderators. He could easily have placed that in the Desript
portion and his argument that he was honouring them was just a
red-herring. He decided to let the listing lapse, so he brought it
upon himself because of his stubborness.

The reality of it, is that Bjorn doesn't moderate at all and Jack
probably never will. For all intents and purposes, any echo that
Felton is a mod of, is an echo that doesn't have one. That's fine,
that's his style, but he was acting  like a spoiled brat when he
let the list expire.

A responsible and sensible non-combatant person with no agenda to
fullfill would simply have submitted an update that would work and
then taken his argument to Thom via netmail and try to negotiate
something. Felton isn't interested in compromises, he's just
interested in making waves.

So I say, let the 2 of them lock horns, it doesn't bother me one
bit. I've got more important things to do, like trying to answer
my user's questions. :)

Yup, but like I say, if a war starts, I like to be able to review
just what exactly happened. I can't do that in any echo but an
english one. I never take a one-sided view to anything, nor do I
accept verbatum, the stories of the 2 combatants. It's the old
adage, there are 3 sides to every argument, the 2 fighters and the
truth.
