I have been instructing people WRT proper ellipsis-formation for 
prolly fifteen years -- maybe longer.  Why should I quit?  There 
are still non-learners out there ...

No "alleged" editing is involved.  What *is* involved is the 
"editing" of the message as posted ... obviously by tracking down 
some "permanent" archive in FidoNet I could prove it, but that's 
not necessary.  My word is good enough.
