Ärende: WWII revisited

The war might have been a lot different if the USA didn't get involved... "our"
stealth fighter technology is based on Germany's early attempts at it (though
it even took us a couple of decades to actually figure it out)... "our" space
program was based on German rocket technolgy... "our" ICBM's and targeting
systems were also based on it... "our" ability for jet aircraft advancing as
fast as it did and being in superior use only a few years after the close of
WWII was based on Germany's efforts and the implimenting of it by "refugee"
scientists...

Funny... how the two major players in the fall of Germany aquired technology
and put it to use according to what they aquired in conquering, and became the
"superpowers" following the war. *ONLY* those two. Think either of them would
have advanced so technologicly in warfare at the same instant, with the same
methods, if not for the conquering and aquiring?

Funnier yet would be what it would have been if Germany had a year or two more
to do what they were working on if they weren't
conquered due to the intervening of a certain nation... taking the heat off
another and allowing them to advance.

Short sighted are some... thinking WWII ended when it did... when the entire
"cold war" was just a continuation of it decades after it was "over".

NOTE: According to the Europeans it was "over"... safe and sound now...

The "debt" actually owed goes -beyond- monitary.  *WE* actually saved their
world and gave them the "right" to criticize us now... a debt they could never
concieve of repaying.

A simple public "thank you" of acknowledgment would suffice in my book, and
screw the cash, however, I do not run the country, so what *I* would find
acceptable means nothing... but if I did, that would be all it would take.
