if i can find some free time and nothing else to do, i might set up something
to count them... i won't hold my breath until then, though ;)

i didn't say anything about the quantity (that i recall without firing up
another editor and going to look) of the articles that TJ wrote, only that he
wrote _something_ in each issue... yeah, so maybe some of it was "memoir" type
stuff but it was at least something new, different, fresh, insightful, etc... i
hadn't been aware that he was gay until reading articles in the snooze... that
is his choice and it doesn't bother me in the least... i'll stick with females
;)  anyway, i also wasn't aware that he wrote BIOS chip code for phoenix bios
until i'd read other articles...

an article is an article is an article... in fact, TJ and all editors up until
donaldT (IIRC) published _everything_ they received... starting with donaldT
(IIRC) there was "filtering" and that has continued since instead of returning
to the traditional content of the snooze...

it is "your" newsletter now, mr. publisher/editor/printer/coffeeboy... since
you have all the jobs, you might as well do some of the work O:)

that's your paranoia or something else coming out... in fact, i think you quite
got it right in one of your messages to shannon where you talk about not being
able to hear the vocal inflection, see the body language, or even (i'll add) to
truely know the person you are reading... for all of fidonet, i can honestly
say that there have been only 4 or 5 that have ever met me and known me over
enough years to truely know what i'm saying, how i'm syaing it and what my body
language is at that time... heck, my current girlfriend and i have been
together just over 5 years and the first few years were really topsy-turvy...
then, suddenly, one day, i noticed that things had really settled out... i
don't know when that was or why i even noticed it but i did... my point is that
that has been 5 years of physical proximity and being around each other...
kinda like being in school with all the others in school with you... those that
you had classes with and hung out with knew you as you knew them... when you
read a letter or message from them, you could close your eyes and see/hear them
as if they were right there...

people think they know others in these echos and they really don't... not like
they think they do... and especially without the additional cues as to what
else is going on when one is typeing these messages...

as an example: i don't know roy witt but i can easily imagine him laughing
quite a bit while he is writting his missives... after seeing some pictures of
him, that imagining is even easier to do... but that still doesn't mean that i
know roy and what he is all about...
