     I guess I would tend to be a tad more particular. I agree with you on
technical reasons.

     That is why I have tried to discuss the matter with both Michiel
and Björn. To better understand their intent and maybe their reasons
for this use of copyrights in Fidonews. As I understand it based on what
Michiel has stated. His intent was to limit the distribution of Fidonews
containg his articles to prevent the distribution of said articles to
locations such as websites and BBS's. Specifically including Shannon's
website/bbs. To me this use of copyrights is based on a personal dislike
for one or more individuals. And an attempt to filter out certain people
from being able to distribute or display Michiel's articles. Michiel's
dialogue with Shannon and others on that partticular subject further
indicates that the reasons were more of a personal nature.

     That would describe the attitude that I get from Michiel quite
well. I have tried several times and several differant ways to reason
with Michiel. He insist's that the current Z2 way of doing things is
right even though it isn't working. He refuses to even consider that
there may be a better way. And also considers any ideas or suggestions
that come from other zones as suspect and not to be trusted. Especially
those that come from zone 1 and Americans in particular.

     While maybe not a specific attack on America as a whole. It it
Michiels way of showing his dislike and distrust of things American
IMHO. He has shown this attitude in both his actions regarding
copyrights as well as his discussion and responses here on the subject.
I have my doubts that we would be having this discussion if Shannon
and his BBS were based in zone 2.
