    There isn't nessesarily anything wrong with being stubborn. It all depends
on what one chooses to be stubborn about. In Michiel's case he thinks
his way is right and refuses to listen to anyone that tries to tell him
different. In this case he chooses to do things not to help others but
instead to prove some point based on his dislike of people based on who
they are or where they come from. His attemps at restricting the distribution
of the Fidonews clearly demonstrates that. He wanted to prevent the
distribution of Fidonews through BBS's and also wanted to prevent the
displaying of any of his articles on BBS's or websites and used Fidonews
to achieve that.

   I asked Michiel to clearly state his intent regrading his use of the
copyright. I did so because I wanted to use HIS reasons and not my opinion
of his reasons. He refused to answer any of my questions. Some say that
Michiel is a very nice and helpfull guy. That could very well be true and
I am not saying that he isn't. I think though that in this matter his goal
and priorities are wrong. At least where the welfare of the Fidonews and
Fidonet are concerned. That is just my opinion and I can't speak for others.


   I have asked Michiel to try to set asside his dislike of "The Z1 Way"
and work with me to make things better. Not for Z1 or for Z2 but for Fidonet.


  Not suprizingly he refused. I will continue to do what I can with or
without his help. I just figured that trying to do things together was
better than to continue trying to do things dividedly.

    That is the idea that he has stuck in his head. To impose MY WAYS
of doing things on him. How may times have I tried to get away from
even refering to ideas as zone related. How many times have I stated
that the best way to do something is the way that works the best?
Regardless of where that way may come from. Yet he continues to refuse
to see or accept anything other than what is the Z2 way.

     Sadly I think that you may be right. People are seeing Michiel's
attitude for what it is. It is a shame too.
