LL> Hello Wayne,
WC>Addressing two issues raised here one by Mr. Roy Wit.
WC>He's absolutely correct.
WC>SSDI is not SSI.
LL> Roy had one thing wrong. SSI, as of 1997, is considered an
LL> entitlement. Thanks to Bill Clinton and a Republican-dominated
LL> Congress.
government semantics only.
You pay in for that purpose, you're entitled to it in my view.
It's a contract.
You wouldn't believe the overtime hours I put in and how that was reflected in
my increased tax rate.
One day it hit me and I cut my overtime by about 11 hours a week
to a more reasonable 40 regular hours plus 10 overtime and my taxes
dropped so much I only lost something like 50 dollars gross pay
a week due to the lower tax bracket.
WC>I'm not drawing SSI despite the fact I am in fact
WC>entitled to do so and quite a large number of individuals have
WC>suggested that I do so for several years.
WC>Seems I'm missing out on rather a lot.
WC>Yes under my circumstances I can draw the SSI, I just elected not to.
LL> Better to apply for "extra help" with SSDI.
Got jammed up unfortunately due to my stubborness on this point.
Landlady just went up 235 dollars on the rent in one shot.
Strange lady.
As she tells it everyone "uses and takes advantage of her."
Except ask her about her Ducati story and how she got revenge on
someone who "screwed her over."
See she borrowed the bike swamping it sucking salt water into the engine
damaging it.
Then years later the guy that lent it to her "screwed her over."
Well she got even by her account, she ruined his Ducati years before she was
"screwed over" by him.
That'll teach him to mess with her!!!
Landlady behaves in a way to assure people get even with her then she claims to
be
the innocent and injured party.
Seems a nice enough lady superficially but geez louise keep her at arms length.
Tried to help her and was met by "don't be bothered it's useless, I won't
listen."
What do you do with people like this?
Just now heard on TV a politician talking about Iraq and the old "when the
Iraqis
stand up., we'll stand down" sound bite.
Why does anyone fall for this insanity?
How stupid are people anyway?
WC>Nor am I receiving subsidized housing or food stamps though entitled to
WC>both of those as well.
LL> Food stamps is not welfare. Folks who are not disabled, and presently
LL> employed, receive food stamps. The Congress appropriates far more
LL> funds than is necessary to provide food stamps to whoever needs them.
Well I was getting food stamps while attending school to rejoin the work force
but stopped after hit returning from school having my back broken a second time
forcing me to quit school.
LL> To put things in proper context, in dollars and cents, it equates to
LL> the cost of five fighter jet aircraft. And only half of what is
LL> appropriated is actually claimed by folks needing food stamps. So go
LL> ahead and apply.
I think your data likely dated.
Checked out the latest fighter jets without a credible mission?
110 million each I believe???
WC>This may change soon due to to changing circumstances not within my
control.
LL> There's always the soup kitchen. ;)
Out the back door AAMOF.
Two minute walk.
A blight on the neighborhood.
WC>Addressing the issue raised by Miss Cassell about my being effeminate
perhap
WC>she's referring to the incident on june 28 2004 when I effeminently
WC>waded into a dispute between between my friendly 50 pound pit bull and the
WC>skinhead's 100 pound anything but friendly pit bull?
LL> It's too bad you could not have barbequed the pit bull that attacked
LL> your pit bull.
Didn't have an elephant gun on me.
Owner's the real one at fault but no good could come of that dog living on
under existing circumstances.
While it had my hand clamped in those insanely powerful jaws we had
some long moments in direct eye contact.
I saw two things, intelligence and a stone killer of an animal.
WC>I can't honestly say I fought that dog off as doing so is an impossibilty
WC>however I *did* distract it into striking and chomping down on my
WC>hand long enough to retrieve my bleeding and wounded dog.
LL> Why would any sane individual stick his/her hand inside of the mouth
LL> of a vicious pit bull? Wouldn't it have been better to sacrifice your
LL> dog rather than your hand?
Didn't stick my hand into its mouth.
Annoyed It by rubbing it along the jaws and lips as it tore at my dog's throat
causing it to go for my hand so I could free the dog.
Comes to the same thing though.
I actually became annoyed it took so long for it to take the bait while
at the same time thinking 'This is really going to hurt."
Actually, surprisingly, the real pain didn't set in untail later in the day and
subsequent
days and then it wasn't the punctures but the little bones in my hand that had
been
moved around by those powerful jaws.
I got loose when it went back for Spanky.
Why?
He was my loyal and trusted friend.
In my experience there is far too little of those qualities in this world
so it's best you hang onto those that exhibit those qualities.
Spanky never let me down ever.
How could I let him down in his time of need?
Could have cost me my life as on my knees at that point it was a short
distance from it's jaws to my neck.
What the hey, everyone has to die some time so if you can't
behave and comport yourself well and to a certain moral and ethical code what
is the point in
living anyway?
BTW, forget that old wives tale about dogs having a clean mouth.
My hand got infected with all sorts of nasty crud and tufts of my own dog's
hair scraped off his chest primarily was extruded out of my hand over the next
several months.
WC>Some ten seconds more in that thing's jaw and I need not have bothered.
WC>Dozens of tears in Spanky's neck, chest and throat some as long as 1 1/2
inc
WC>long and give how tough their hides are that too is impressive in its way.
WC>I cannot say I recommend this type of activity however it might have been
WC>a great deal worse had not my hand not gone straight in from the front and
m
WC>of its teeth gone around the outside of my hand with only five or six
WC>teeth puncturing my hand. Had "Brutus" grasped my hand by the side I
WC>would no longer have my left hand.
LL> Well, look on the bright side. Had the dog ripped off your hand, you
LL> could have gotten a prosthetic left hand. And then you could have
LL> claimed to have been a war hero, having had your hand blown off while
LL> on patrol in Iraq.
Heh.
I was on patrol across the street from the apartment.
WC>Some amazing powerful force these animals have in their jaws.
WC>Took me 5 1/2 months to regain the use of my hand.
LL> Had it gone for your head, there would have been no more Wayne.
Don't I know it.
Spanky was a tough chew but my throat would have come apart like a tomato
stewed in boiling water for an hour had that thing struck there.
Believe me that image occurred numerous times in the subsequent months.
During that time I rather felt like it must feel to be a U.S. service person
on
patrol in Baghdad just waiting for that monster to strike again.
No witnesses, animal control did little.
WC>I had Spanky another two years because of my efforts which is a 2 solid
year
WC>and some days longer than had I not intervened.
WC>A truely spectacular animal and close friend of mine.
WC>He is sorely missed.
LL> There are other dogs waiting to be adopted. And cats, too.
LL> So why not adopt another pet? Not as a replacement for Spanky,
Two reasons.
Spanky is irreplaceable.
You know the very same day as the attack he climbed on the bed, moved to my
head
and laid a big wet one on me out of nowhere.
He was thanking me for rescuing him and boy was that touching.
Second reason Lee being I can barely walk at all and then only minutes a day.
Just walking that guy 12 minutes twice a day at the end was brutally painful on
me.
Incidentally it's not exactly easy to find an apartment that will take a dog
let
alone that breed and don't bother trying to tell anyone the dog is friendly.
Over the years I've discovered people only believe that which they are
predisposed
to believe.
LL> but rather for the pleasure of such company.
I miss the little things.
The spontanous affection.
The light snoring.
The hystrically funny puppy woofs he let out while dreaming.
Even being crowded while sleeping at bed atg night even though it did aggravate
my back injury.
