There was some excitement in the Aleutians, too.  Not a lot (unless you
were in the Navy), but some.  Only one fleet action though, IIRC.

It's a reference to my penchant for collecting old/obsolete/obsolescent
equipment that's still usable.  F'rinstance, my 'new' car is a 1999
Chrysler Laser (I know, Chrysler didn't make Lasers in 1999 - Plymouth
did - and so did I, using the body of a 1986 Daytona and the mechanics
and interior of a 1984 Chrysler Laser (because I combined the two different
vehicles to make the one the state of Nebraska combined the two titles and
issued a new title for it and made it a 1999 Chrysler Laser).

I also have about 100 computers here, all but a few of the PC clones are
perfectly functional.  Laptops up to and including an IBM mainframe.  The
BBS itself is running on an IBM PS/2 model 95, which is a 486/66 with
64MB of RAM and 3 2GB HDs with OS/2 version 4.0 as an operating system.

I'm only using about six of the PC clones at the moment (various flavors of
OS/2 (I have all of the versions I know about from 1.2 up to and including
eCS 1.2R) and Linux, one W98 box), I really do need to get them networked
together.
