When FDR died, Truman was sworn in as "acting President".
When JFK died, LBJ was sworn in as "acting President".

In order for the Speaker of the House to be sworn in, he/she would have
to resign from office.  Ditto for the Senate Pro Tempore.  Whoever
assumes the office of the President must meet the qualifications for
President as stated in the U.S. Constitution.  For example, Henry
Kissinger could never have been sworn in as President because he was
born in Germany.

One cannot be re-elected President unless one has already been elected
President.  Truman was never elected President until 1948.

It is not a correction, but an affirmation of my original statement.

The presidential election was in 1948.  There was no presidentital
election in 1949.  And Truman was never elected president prior to
1948.  Now do the math.  And wipe your pants.
