Mr. Cassell leaves out a few details here.

I confirmed such a virus existed from all the major antivirus providers
who described it nealy exactly the as  having it's effect on my system.

Further, there were media news reports of it and how a supposed 
commercial antivirus software vendor was actually using their web site
to infect
users so as to increase their sales.

Lastly, I've still got a copy of that critter on a Seagate 340 Meg
drive.
The only slight difficulty is not having a jumper in that odd size
I soldered it slave rather than cable select so it *has* to be a slave
drive
and not run solo.

As yet nothing, most assuredly not Mr Cassells rants, have made me feel
any
great need to bother slaving it with the attendent infection of a second
drive 

Which btw is how it got onto the system in the first place.
The old Seagate was and is partition DOS 5.0 - Win 3.1 and then two
Linux
native partitions.

It was a real *pain* to excise from my system and all exposed storage
media
having reinfected when I'd thought I'd cleared it once it once again
jumped back to the primary first physical necessitation
my zeroing out the drive with dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/hd?
for each of the drives and then reloading all software.

What a PITA.

delt with several BIOS infections... i also had occasion to fix one
guy's *nix
box that had gotten rooted and set up as a sound server... this was,
gee, 8=10
years ago at least...

It's not pride.
I was happy to learn quietly until Mr. Cassell interjected himself.
After he blew me out of the Linux echo with his and his entourageof
clowns
annoying antics I decided to annoy back him by the intellectual version
of a biker lipping off to some wannabe tough guy but in reality sidewalk
commando.

I presume you're evidence to support your contention that Mr. Cassell 
has indeed ever learned something?

them... then they learned a bit more and a whole other world opened

folk can grasp certain concepts much faster and easier than others...

because they simply don't understand it... some folk are so at home with
BASIC
that they can't see any reason to use anything else while others see

huge bloated thing that ASM, PASCAL, and C blow all to heck... some folk
believe that if you don't pay to go to college or trade school that you

learned anything worth a damn... others swear that college is the do
all, be
all, end all of everything... personally, i just like to see folk do
what they
enjoy doing and not being mean or ugly to others around them who may or
may not
be as fortunate as they are...

Mr. Cassell will not capice' in a million years.

Five years ago I mentioned a certain PDF file I'd gotten off of the
official CIA.gov
web site concerning military and economic threats posed by China and
India.
He shrugged it all off.
The CIA was absolutely correct in it's projections and it has
started even sooner than their prediction.

King Abdulla of Saudi Arabia has just turned down an invitation to the
White House
by President Bush.
This has some political implications of some concern.

However, I am done with this nonsense and sick and tired of both
politics
and the willfully ignorant.

Over time Mr. Cassell will modify his views to bring them into alignment
with a reality
180 degrees out of phase with his previous position while all the time 
claiming to have been right all along.

Right about what?
He has been right about *nothing* and in view of his incredible
stupidity 
and abysmal record as regard to fact he has no other recourse then to
blindly
and relentlessly attack, attack, attack or to put it another way
Swiftboat
those that differ with his views.

This is what one whose case has no merit is left with.
